I was recently contacted by Ivy from Mollie Ollie to see if I would like to review their craft caddy and I jumped all over this opportunity.
I had seen them on Amazon a few times before, so I was excited to get the chance to try one out.
As you may know, I do more than crochet, so not only would this caddy be great as a crochet project bag, but it would be great for sewing supplies and art supplies as well!
This caddy has a thick gray felt exterior, with a turquoise polyester liner inside. I found this info on the handy care card that comes along with it.
There is a ton of space for materials; I was able to fit 14 full balls of yarn on the inside, plus a ton of hooks and other notions in the outside pockets! 3 sides have after-thought pockets and the fourth side is a zipper pocket!
I can even see this caddy being used to carry projects to a “stitch and bitch” or crochet class. It’s super comfortable to tote around!
Even though I would use it for crafts, the number one thing this caddy is marketed as is a diaper caddy organizer and oh how I wish I had had one when my babies were.. well, babies LOL!
So, did I find any cons? Not really, actually. I love it and it will see a lot of use! I even have two more in my cart, so I can have them for other craft mediums.
The one thing I could point out is, due to the materials used, it’s “hard to unfold”. As in, it doesn’t stay unfolded well without being stuffed.
There isn’t a stiff insert to put in the bottom or anything like that.
But, it’s a minor detail, you could always grab some plastic canvas to put in the bottom if that is something important to your use.
This also means the handles stay a little kinked and don’t fold away from the top well.
But again, minor detail and I’m not even sure in what circumstance that would be an issue (except when trying to photograph it, which is how I made the discovery LOL!)
Also, total user error, but there aren’t any instructions, so I actually blanked on what to do with the inserts that did come inside…
Yes folks, I tried all sorts of things before my husband kindly suggested that “maybe” those were the dividers.
Duh. So, when you buy one and you open it and find the inserts, they attach to the very obvious hook & eye strips on the inside of the caddy. *face palm* (But also totally laughing at myself!!)
Again, this caddy is great! The construction is beautiful, it’s sturdy, and it has multiple uses. All the things I love in a bag, tote, or caddy!
