People often hear the words “Ad” or “Affiliate” and think it’s some sort of scam, but it’s not.
Advertisements and Affiliations are a way for bloggers to monetize their writings, so that they can continue to bring you great FREE content and still earn an income.. because everyone should be able to be paid for their time, right?
So, let me explain how it works.
Advertisements
(Ads) These are ads for businesses & services. For example, you may come across an advertisement on a page for products sold at Walmart. A blogger or advertisement company places this image on the website to show you things you may be interested in. If you see something in an ad you like and you click on that ad, the blogger may earn a small commission. If you purchase after you’ve clicked the ad, again, they may earn a small commission. This costs you nothing extra!
**Only click ads if you really are interested in the product though.
Affiliate Links
Bloggers sign up with specific companies, whose product would be of interest to their fan base; This makes them an affiliate of that company. Then bloggers post links to specific products they think you would love to know about (or products that they used for a project tutorial). If you purchase through an affiliate link, they receive a small commission, at no extra cost to you!
So, you see, Ads and Affiliate links are just a way for a blogger to make an income doing something they love, which is bringing you free content that you love!
