Journal Pen Pouch

Mini Mystery Crochet Alongs are a great way to use up those leftover scraps of yarn!

I participated in another mMCAL hosted by A Crocheted Simplicity this past Fall and had a lot of fun making our Halloween Pumpkin Treat Bags!

  • Beginning ch-1 does not count as a stitch
  • Add this pattern to your Ravelry favorites!

R1. Ch 7, sc in back bump of 2nd ch and in each ch across, turn (6)
R2. Ch 1, sc across, turn (6)
R3-44. Repeat R2; Fasten at the end of R44.

Fold strip at Row 18 & sew down each side to attach. Do not sew across the top; keep it open.

Hide all strings.

Optional: Add decorations to the front with Puffy Paint. Buttons or crocheted appliqués could also be used!

Wrap ribbon around journal (or sketch pad) cover, top to bottom, so that the ribbon overlaps about 1/2″. Hot glue together.

Hot glue the pouch to the front center of the ribbon, covering where the ribbon overlaps.

And you’re done! You now have a cute little pen/pencil holder for your journal! The best part is: it slides right off, so you can switch it to a new journal.

Of course, these are so quick and easy to make, you can have a new one for every journal (and the size is simple enough to adjust as well). They would make fantastic gifts too!

I hope you enjoyed this mMCAL! I’m loving seeing all the colors you’ve all used and I am so looking forward to seeing them completed! — Don’t forget today is the last day of the pattern sale in my shop! Use code ACS2019 to save 50% on your entire purchase.
