The “Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary” is a must-have stitch book for crochet designers (or want-to-be designers), written by Crochet and Knitwear designer Dora Ohrenstein.
Whenever you see Dora’s name on a book, you know you’re sure to get something amazing and easy to follow along with; this book does not disappoint!

This book includes 125 stitches, but what sets this book apart is the shaping instructions. Dora teaches us how to increase stitch work in the middle of the pattern, but also how to shape the edges! Plus, there is a symbols chart to follow along with too!
The introduction to this book includes an in-depth explanation of what pattern shaping is and the different types of shaping that can be used.
And my favorite part of this book is information given for each stitch pattern:
- Stitch Multiple
- Number of Stitches in Pattern Repeat
- Number of Rows in Pattern Repeat
- Reversible or Not Reversible
The stitch multiple information alone is enough to make me do cartwheels, but the added information takes all of the guess work out of the designing process!
This is one book you do not want to miss! Seriously! I already have a few garment designs in mind!
Thank you for reading this review! I hope you found it helpful!
