Allagash Beanie – Free Crochet Pattern

I spent a lot of time thinking about what type of items screamed My Mountain Man. I sketched out quite a few designs, but just kept coming back to hats!

Of all the crocheted wearables out there, I can only get my 3 guys to wear the hats I make. So I asked them and they agreed “Beanie!” “Oh yeah, definitely a beanie!”. And so I present to you: The Allagash Beanie!
Boston Original Yarn (#5 weight)
Navy (A)
White (B)
Chestnut (C)
Cayenne (D)
J/10/6.00mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle (to hide strings)
Gauge
After 3 rounds = 4 ¼”
Teen / Adult (22” head)
arnd = around
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
sc = single crochet
sl st(s) = slip stitch(es)
YO = yarn over

Notes
- This is a teen/adult size beanie and should fit up to a 22″ head.
- Beginning chs do not count as sts unless otherwise indicated
- Only turn where indicated
This patterns calls for Boston Original Yarn, which is a #5 wool blend. You can get it on sale HERE. Other great alternatives would be Lion Brand Alpine Wool, Cascade Superwash 128, and Bernat Roving. You can also use Boston Style for a fun twist!
