Here in Maine, Spring equates to cold, so it’s still the season for eating lots of warm soups and stews!

I thought now is the perfect time to make these super cute flower shaped soup bowl cozies I’ve been sitting on for well over a year!

Crochet Soup Bowl Cozies are so fun and this Flower Soup Bowl Cozy kicks it up a notch!

My favorite part of making these was I could lounge in bed, stitch these up, and be ready to have soup for lunch!

Notes
  • This pattern is worked with double strands.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom-up in the round. Only join where indicated.
  • Beginning chains do not count as stitches.
  • Optional: For deeper bowls, continue working the green section until it matches the height of your bowl. This is not necessary as the cozy will still cover the majority of the bowl, but is an option if you want the bowl completely covered.
  • If you have trouble keeping stitches tight, go down to a J/10/6.00mm Crochet Hook.

  1. I love this pattern and I’m working on the last rows and mine looks way different than yours. Yours looks like either 2 rows of pink or taller stitches maybe? Any help would be appreciated.

    1. Hi Deborah!
While 100% cotton typically is safe for use in the microwave, I would contact the yarn company and ask them.
Personally, I slip the bowl into the cozy after it’s done in the microwave.

  2. I don’t understand the “X2..” in the pattern. I have tried to do it at least three times but I get stuck when it come to that. Why do you use two strands of yarn?

    1. Hi Tracey!
When you see “x 2” it means to work the indicated stitches in the next two stitch spaces. For example “sc x 2” means to work 1 sc into the next to stitches.
Likewise “2 dc x 2” would mean to work 2 dc into each of the next two spaces.

      I hope that helps!
