Fete Gift Card Holder

Need a quick stash busting project? Need items for a craft fair? Well, then I have the perfect project for you!

These gift card holders take scrap amounts of yarn and work up so fast, you could have all of your gift card gifts covered in a day!

Plus, they can be hung on a Christmas Tree, by putting a branch through the loop closure of the gift card holder, instead of closing it.

Materials

Worsted Weight Yarn (#4)

     *Magenta(A)

     *BrightGreen (B)

Clover Amour G/6/4.00mm Hook

Yarn Needle

1 – ½” Button

Optional: Themed Appliques

Stitch Guide

arnd = around

BLO = back loop only

ch = chain

sc = single crochet

sk = skip

WS = wrong side (inside of project)

Instructions

With Color A,

1. Ch 16, sc in each ch across, turn and sc up opposite side of ch, sl st to join in 1st sc (30)

2. Ch 1, sc in each st arnd, sl st to join in 1st sc (30)

With Color B,

3. Ch 1, sl st in each sc arnd, sl st to join in 1st sl st

With Color A,

4.  Ch 1, sc in BLO of rnd 2, sl st to join in 1st sc

5. Ch 1, sc in each st arnd, sl st to join in 1st sc (30)

With Color B, 

6. Ch 1, sl st in each sc arnd, sl st to join in 1st sl st

With Color A,

7-8. Repeat 4 & 5

With Color B,

9. Repeat 6

With Color A, 

10-11. Repeat 4 & 5; TURN at the end of rnd 5

With Color B,

12. Ch 1, sc in each st arnd, sl st to join in 1st sc. Fasten.

CLOSURE LOOP

With Color B,

Find two center sts on back side from round 12,

Attach yarn to right loop, ch 10, sl st to left loop. Fasten.

Finishing

  *Attach button to front center over rounds 10 & 11. 

  *Attach themed applique pieces to desired locations

  *Hide all strings.
