Crochet Trinity Stitch Free Tutorial
The crochet Trinity Stitch is aptly named because it is worked over three stitches! This beautiful stitch creates a flower or starburst look. It is another thick, textured, and reversible stitch.

The Trinity Stitch Crochet pattern was requested many times when I first mentioned doing this crochet along, so it immediately went on my list, and I’m so happy you all pointed this stitch out to me, because it’s so pretty!
This stitch is the March 2024 New Year’s Resolution CAL stitch!
And because the word Trinity refers to “three”, I thought the third month of the year would be a great time to use this stitch!
The crochet Trinity stitch is great, because the possibilities are pretty endless with this one! Not only is it a one row repeat stitch that’s easy to replicate, there isn’t a project type out there that wouldn’t look great with it!
The only caveat is that this stitch does end up being pretty thick, so if you were wanting to make a summer top, I would suggest a nice lace or fingering weight yarn. But if you were wanting to make an afghan, any yarn weight could be used! The afghan will turn out thick and squishy!
The Trinity stitch would also be beautiful mixed with other stitch patterns to break it up a bit. Maybe a few rows of trinity stitch mixed with some double crochet rows?
The Trinity Stitch crochet pattern has a few advanced techniques that may not make this beginner friendly, although I would never discourage you from trying! If you’re feeling confident and you know how to make a sc3tog, then why not dive in?!
