You’ve probably noticed quite a few animals themed patterns from amigurumi to pot holders to these fun bowl cozies and that’s because it’s one of my favorite things to crochet, along with the idea of quick & easy projects.

This website rarely features advanced or expert level crochet patterns, because I prefer simple, fun, and functional!

So, when I was tasked with designing something I loved about crochet, I knew it had to be a fast & easy crochet pattern featuring animals!

K/10.5/6.50mm Crochet Hook {I highly suggest Clover Amour Hooks}

Notes
  • This pattern is worked with double strands.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom-up in the round. Only join where indicated.
  • Beginning chains do not count as stitches.
  • Optional: For deeper bowls, continue working the bottom section until it matches the height of your bowl. This is not necessary as the cozy will still cover the majority of the bowl, but is an option if you want the bowl completely covered.
  • If you have trouble keeping stitches tight, go down to a J/10/6.00mm Crochet Hook.

Finishing

  • Sew the antlers onto R16-18, so the inner edges of the antlers are approximately 12 stitches apart.
  • Sew the ears onto R16-18, so the inner edges of the ears are approximately 18 stitches apart.
  • Sew spots onto R16-18, leaving approximately 2 stitches from the ears to the first spot, and 2 stitches between the first and second spots.
  • Hide all strings.
