Whether you’re setting the table for a holiday meal, a backyard gathering, or just want to add a little handmade charm to everyday dinners, these napkin rings are the perfect touch.

Why You’ll Love This Pattern

One of my favorite things about this pattern is just how quick and versatile it is. These napkin rings take only minutes to make, so you can whip up an entire set in less than an hour. They’re great for last-minute gatherings, handmade hostess gifts, or even as a small project to sell at craft fairs. And since they use such a small amount of yarn, they’re the ultimate stash buster!

Another fun thing about this design is that it’s “reversible”! You can either showcase the top loops across the front, giving it a built in texture, or your can slide those to the inside of the rings.

Yarn & Color Choices

Any yarn and any hook can be used, which means the possibilities are endless.

I chose ecru worsted weight cotton for my sample because I love the rustic, farmhouse-style look. My original plan, though, was to make them in crisp white and top them with clear plastic snowflakes for a winter wonderland vibe (my second favorite style this time of year!).

But don’t feel limited to one season—you can easily adapt these napkin rings for any holiday or celebration:

  • Valentine’s Day: crochet them in pink or red and add a heart applique.
  • Easter: use white chenille “blanket” yarn for a soft, fluffy look.
  • Fall gatherings: try pumpkin orange, mustard yellow, or earthy brown shades.
  • Christmas dinners: classic red, green, or even metallic yarns.

I also chose worsted weight cotton, because I like the look, durability, and accessibility of this yarn!

Embellishment Ideas

The real fun comes in decorating! Don’t forget to add matching embellishments or appliqués to tie your whole table setting together. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Tiny crochet flowers or leaves.
  • Buttons, beads, or jingle bells.
  • Seasonal appliqués like pumpkins, snowflakes, or stars.

Crochet Napkin Rings are a more than just a great way to decorate for dinner parties, they’re also a special way to showcase your crochet talents!

Perfect for Every Occasion

Crochet Napkin Rings are more than just a way to decorate your table—they’re also a fun way to showcase your crochet skills. Imagine inviting your family over for dinner and having proper place settings, complete with handmade napkin rings on every plate. You’ll get that magical moment when everyone asks, “You made these?!” That’s one of the best feelings as a maker.

Great for Gifting & Craft Fairs

Since this pattern is so quick and beginner-friendly, it’s ideal for gift sets or craft fair inventory. Bundle them in sets of 4, 6, or 8 and tie them with ribbon or twine for a beautiful handmade package. They’re affordable, customizable, and guaranteed to get attention on your table or booth.
