2024 Crochet Shark Week Pattern Giveaway
I watch Shark Week on the Discovery Channel every year and last year I had the idea to host a Crochet Shark Week event where I gave away brand new Shark crochet pattern every day for the seven days of Shark Week!

Well, the event was so popular, all the excitement made me think we needed to do it again. And as the year went on and I would reshare those patterns on social media, I received requests for other shark patterns, so I just knew we needed a part two!
At this point you would think I’d be running out of shark ideas, but I had so many ideas, that it was hard to whittle it down to just seven!
The shark week event will run just like the “giving thanks” giveaway I host every November to show my appreciation for all the support my small business receives from the community. I love and look forward to it every year, so I don’t mind an excuse to do a mini event earlier in the year.
It will work the same way (keep reading for details), except every shark crochet pattern is brand new!

How does Crochet Shark Week work?
Every day from July 7 – 13, 2024 I will give away a PDF pattern FREE for 24 hours only (Midnight to 11:59 pm EST).
You will come back to this post each day and you will find a link to the next pattern! Only one link is active per day.
Please read the event date and time information below, so you will know what day we are on.
You will see all of the dates listed below, but only the current day’s link is active; the following day’s link will be active at midnight.
I do this so I can schedule the patterns and not have to be up at midnight to post them every night through the entire week.
What I ask in return…
Please do not share my patterns: If someone misses a day, then they miss a day. Please do not offer to send them the pattern.
Instead share the heck out of this event and let people know it’s happening, so maybe they won’t miss anything!
Due to these giveaways being very popular events, I will not be able to send out patterns if you miss them.
In the past this has led to illegal distribution of my patterns and it hurts me as a designer and as a small business, so I ask that you please not do that.
One free pattern is better than none anyway, right?
I want to be able to continue to host events like this year after year, but I can’t if people continue to share my pattern PDFs with each other instead of sharing the link where someone can get their own copy.
Please understand that I essentially lose a lot of money from these events by giving away the pattern for free. What would be 1,000 downloads of a $5 pattern for 7 days ends up being 1,000 downloads for $0 each.
To recoup some of that loss, it helps to have people visiting my website! I know ads are not anyone’s favorite thing, but it’s better to see an ad then spend $50 on patterns, isn’t it?
Plus, all patterns will be on sale in both my Etsy and Ravelry shops through the entire week, so if you miss a must-have pattern you can snag it at a great price!

What an amazing gift! I managed to miss some of these when they were first offered- so I was thrilled to see you were offering them as an e-book. I definitely need to make some of these for my grandkids. But which one to make first?
I am enjoying the #7 shark pattern, but am confused on row 1 when it comes to adding the white to the gray. Is is going to become one long piece (50 stitches in width) for the gray with the white underneath (50 stitches)? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it becomes a long strip that you fold in half; the gray becomes the top and the white becomes the bottom.
