The crochet Christmas ornament bowl cozy combines practicality with holiday aesthetics, offering a delightful way to protect hands from hot bowls while adding a festive touch to your home during the Christmas season.
Made using 100% cotton, most bowl cozies can be put directly in the microwave for short reheats! Just make sure you have no metal, plastics, or other heat sensitive materials attached to it!

100% Cotton Worsted Weight Yarn (#4)
- Bulb Color [2 ½ oz (130 yds)]
- Hanger Color [½ oz (25yds)]
K/10.5/6.50mm Crochet Hook

Notes
- This pattern is worked with double strands.
- This pattern is worked from the bottom-up in the round. Only join where indicated.
- Beginning chains do not count as stitches.
- Where asterisks appear, repeat the instructions between them.
- Optional: For deeper bowls, continue working the bottom section until it matches the height of your bowl. This is not necessary as the cozy will still cover the majority of the bowl, but is an option if you want the bowl completely covered.
- If you have trouble keeping stitches tight, go down to a J/10/6.00mm Crochet Hook.
- I used I Love This Cotton in Red, Bright Green, and Gold.

R3. *2 sc, sc* arnd (18)
R4. *2 sc, sc x 2* arnd (24)
R5. *2 sc, sc x 3* arnd (30)
R6. *2 sc, sc x 4* arnd (36)
R7. *2 sc, sc x 5* arnd (42)
R8. sc arnd (42)
R9. *2 sc, sc x 6* arnd (48)

R11-15. Repeat R10
R16. Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), *2 dc, dc x 7* arnd (54)

HANGER
With Hanger Color,
R1. Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, turn (4)
R2. Ch 1, BLO sc across, turn (4)
R3-5. Repeat R2; do not turn at the end of R5
R6. Ch 1, sc in the end of each row across, turn (5)
R7. sl st x 2, ch 5, skip 1, sl st x 2; Fasten. (4 sl st, 1 ch-5)
Finishing
- Attach the Hanger to the center of the cozy rim, over R16&17, covering the “seam”.
- Hide all strings.
