The plush chenille fabric feels like a warm hug, while the playful bunny and carrot accents add a touch of sweetness to your decor. Snuggle up and let this adorable blanket bring a little extra joy to your relaxation time!
Is the crochet blanket size adjustable?
This pattern is also adjustable, so you can take it from a baby blanket to a throw or even larger! Simply add stitches in multiples of 25 and rows in multiples of 33!
What is the Skill Level for this pattern?
The Fluffy Bunnies Crochet Blanket Pattern is an intermediate skill level pattern, because it does use stitches beyond the basics, as well as some advanced techniques for forming the bunny ears and carrots.
Is this blanket customizable?
The fun thing about this blanket is that you can make it in a multitude of combinations! For starters, the pattern is written for bulky weight yarn for the bunny heads, but I used fur yarn for the sample. That’s because I am making a second version with the bulky yarn and realized that would be a better base line and suggest fur yarn as an alternate.
If you’re not a fan of chenille yarns, you can change to any super bulky weight yarn for the base or you can use double strands of your favorite worsted weight yarn. Of course you could use a single strand of worsted weight yarn for all pieces and follow this same pattern, but the gauge and yarn amounts will be much different.
The other fun thing is playing with colors! The second version I’m making is white with brown bunny heads! This one is for my daughter, as a matter of fact she designed it. I had originally planned the gray blanket with fur bunny heads only and she suggested “why don’t you add carrots?!” Genius! So after playing with a few combinations, this was the final layout we decided on.
Here are a few combinations I think would be adorable:

Notes
- Beginning chains do not count as stitches.
- Where asterisks appear, repeat the instructions between them.
- Fur yarn can be used in place of bulky weight fur color.
- Blanket instructions are written for a 33” x 35.5” size, so adjusting the size will change the yarn amounts needed.
- Pattern is worked in a multiple of 25 + 6 sts and 33 + 6 rows. For larger blankets add stitches in multiples of 25 sts and add 33 rows.
- Use stitch markers to mark where the stitch between bunny ears and the stitch after bunny ears will be. This is especially helpful if using faux fur yarn.
Special Stitches
Bobble = *YO, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO, draw up a loop, YO, draw through 2 loops on hook* 5X, YO, draw through all 6 loops on the hook.
Long Fan Stitch (fan st) = Drawing loops up to current row height for each dc: dc in stitch indicated *ch 1, dc in the same stitch* 2X
Long Puff Stitch (Lpuff) = Drawing loops up to current row height: YO,*insert hook into stitch indicated, YO, draw up a loop* 3X, YO, draw through all loops on hook. Lpuffs are worked diagonally into a bobble two rows below current working row. See chart below for a better understanding. Note: If using fur yarn for bunnies, reduce Lpuffs down to two passes instead of three or it will be too fluffy to see that there are two ears.
