This hat was designed as part of the Crochet Cancer Challenge blog hop event hosted yearly by Sweet Potato 3!
I have joined this event several times in the past, because I love to show support to warriors during their fight and to their loved ones also!
Making and wearing hats that can show support, or be donated as chemo caps, is a great way to show someone you are there with them always, fighting with them in spirit!
This year I chose to make a hat to represent Liver Cancer, because I lost my Grammy in September 2012 to this disease.
She was only 70 years old and still so full of spunk right up to the end, that it was incredibly hard to watch her fight that fight, so brave and strong, and ultimately lose.
Knowing that so many other people have the same feelings I do, have experienced loss like I have, or are fighting the fight right now makes me want to be involved and help, even if it’s just in a small way.
As it turns out, October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month, so it’s great timing for this hat. But of course it can be made in any colors to represent any cause you want to show support for!
