Sleep can be elusive, and let’s be honest, sleep deprivation is the real predator here! It’s nice to have tools to make it easier and that’s where sleep masks come in!
I have designed sleep masks in the past, such as the Heart Eyes Emoji Sleep Mask, and there are so handy and work so well!
Adults and Children alike can be afflicted with sleep disorders, so it’s nice to have sleep masks that are fun for young and old(er).
This Shark sleep Mask fits kids through adults easily by cutting the elastic to different sizes.
Sleep masks handy for migraine sufferers! Just slip on a mask and shut out the light!
So, throw on your mask and dive into the vast ocean of your dreams!

Notes
- This pattern is worked from side to side.
- Beginning chains do not count as stitches.
- This mask can be made to look like a Great White, Blue Shark, or Lemon Shark by changing the colors. Or change the button eye placement to look like a Hammerhead.
- Yarn suggestions: Silk, soft cotton, bamboo, or some blend of these fibers.
- Use a smaller hook size to make the mask smaller and stitches tighter as needed.
- I used I Love This Cotton in Dove, White, and Red.

Finishing
- Attach the dorsal fin to the top center of R29.
- Attach the Pectoral Fins onto the side edges, tipped slightly.
- For Great White Shark: Attach 1st button over R7-9, centered from top-bottom. Attach 2nd button over R20-22, centered from top-bottom.
For Hammerhead Shark: place eyes closer to the outer edges, but still centered from top-bottom.
Tip: If using black embroidery floss to attach, insert needle from the top of the mask and out through the bottom, under the button, and finish by bringing the tail out of the top (under the button). This will avoid knots from poking into eyes and it will hide the tails. For extra security add a dab of hot glue to hold the tails and button in place. - For Kids: Cut 1 – 14.5” braided elastic piece, For Adults: Cut 1 – 15.5” braided elastic piece. Attach elastic centered on the side edges of the mask.
Note: Elastic will also be attached over the pectoral fins. - Hide all strings.
